Orange shirt day
Wednesday September 30th 2020 is designated as Orange Shirt Day. This event is to create awareness of the impacts of residential schools on First Nations individuals, families, and communities.
Send your child in an orange shirt to promote "Every Child Matters". It is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn about our painful history and begin to create steps towards reconciliation.

This year all positions for the Executive Officers are open as the current team will be retiring. we encourage you to put your name forth as a nominee to form part of the 2020-2021 Executive Officers and Planning committee which will consist of at minimum 3 positions covering duties of Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications, Member-at-Large. Out of school care WAIT LIST is now open for A.R. Lord Elementary students. This program is run through the Hastings Community Association and includes morning drop-off to school and afternoon pickup and walk over to the neighboring community centre. Welcome back to the A.R. Lord Parent Advisory Council Blog. It has been a long hiatus and we are glad to be back and share information with our parent caregiver families, build community and support our children and school in their education. A special welcome to all the new children and families who are joining A.R. Lord Elementary.
Keep your eye out for important notices directly from the school as we head back with new protocols and schedules. A few highlights:
Thursday Sep 10 9:00-11:30 AM Grade 1-7 Students with Last Names starting A-L
Friday Sept 11 9:00-11:30 AM Grade 1-7 Students with Last Names starting M-Z
Then Monday Sept 14 will be full day instruction for all
Kindergarten Gradual Entry starts Monday Sept 14th and will progress until Full time by Sept 21st.
