The Dr. A.R. Lord Cross Country team is in full swing with morning practices held every Tuesday and Friday before school. This year there is a large contingent of students from Gr. 1-7 on the team and they are lead by coaches Ms. O'Neill and Ms. Burke. Last week the team competed in their first mini-meet where students had a chance to run with other nearby VSB elementary schools. Each grade level is a separate category and older students run longer distances than the younger ones. Come out and cheer on our Lord Lions at this week's Mini-Meet on Wednesday Oct 2nd 3:30pm -4:30pm at nearby Clinton Park.

What is PAC’s objective? The parents and caregivers of Dr. AR Lord support our children through faculty guidance, extra-curricular events, fundraising, programs and support. We strive to enrich our children’s education and social experience.
How can you get involved? We are always looking for ideas and participation. Attend an upcoming monthly PAC meeting. Volunteer for an event. There are many ways to support our school with your unique talents, connections, or time throughout the year (either on site at the school or on your own time in the background). Most importantly we stress that PAC should be a fun way to connect with other parent / caregivers and build our school community.
How can you stay in touch? Follow us on our website/blog, social media sites (Facebook Twitter), attend the next PAC meeting, talk to one of the Executive members, contact via email: firstname.lastname@example.org , and subscribe to our direct email/newsletter list.
Stay tuned for upcoming activities, events and announcements!
Send your child to school in an orange shirt (any orange shirt will do) on Monday September 30th and show your support.
On September 30th, Dr. A.R. Lord Elementary will be acknowledging Orange Shirt Day. It is the day when we honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada. Students will learn more about the history of those schools and this day is a symbolic call to action to Truth and Reconciliation. Engage with your child and discuss your thoughts and what Orange Shirt day means to you, what it means to our indigenous communities, and to Canada.
