Expanded hot lunch

12/9/2023

Thank you to everyone who filled out the hot lunch survey! Based on the results of the survey we've decided to expand the hot lunch program. We'll be making hot lunch available every 2 weeks. We've also made some updates to the menus, providing more variety from additional vendors. At the end of the school year we'll send out another survey to see how you like the changes.

Reminder you can order hot lunch by going to the Munch-a-Lunch home page and either logging in or creating a new account. Please note it is most cost effective for the PAC if you create an order for all lunches all at once (as opposed to going in each time to sign up for each lunch separately). Once an order is created, parents will have 1 hr to complete payment for the order.

Ordering closes 7 days prior to each lunch date. Our first hot lunch date is on January 15th.

If you'd like to volunteer to help with the organizing and distribution of hot lunches you can sign up here: https://signup.com/go/cmbjdtc

Thank you to all the parent & family volunteers who have helped out at the numerous events this year. The last hot lunch was held on Friday June 3rd and was a huge success. We express our gratitude for all the work that has been put into the coordination and sorting and deliver of hot lunch to many A.R. Lord students over the second term has been!

We are still seeking  a couple of parents to help with the refreshment table during the grade 7 graduation leaving ceremony. If you can assist from 1:15-2:45 pm on Jun 24th, please contact: [email protected]

Literacy Workshop for caregivers of primary students

5/17/2022

Come Read with Me is an interactive workshop hosted by One to One Literacy and offered at no charge to parent/caregivers of Dr. A.R. Lord students in the primary grades. It is an opportunity for parents to learn positive reading strategies to support their children at home  (choose to attend the online seminar on either May 26th or Jun 2nd)

These pandemic times have been challenging for many parents and teachers. As a result, your child(ren) may benefit from extra support on their way to becoming confident, joyful readers. The Come Read with Me workshop can support you by equipping you with the knowledge, strategies, and inspiration you need to get reading with your kids.
There is no cost to participate and you will receive a digital resource package including a handbook for parents called “Reading Success at Home”. This program has been made available to families in British Columbia through the generous support of our donors.
